Maps

The Customer Services Centre can supply customers with a wide range of geological maps and associated explanatory notes as well as geophysical, historical, cultural and special series maps.

Copies can be supplied as:

  • published maps
  • on demand prints of maps
  • a CD or DVD of the digital data used to produce a print-on-demand map.

Published maps
Topics include:

  • Geology - 1:100 000, 1:250 000, 1:1 000 000, 1:2 000 000
  • Geophysical – Radiometrics, Total Magnetic Intensity (TMI), Gravity and Magnetic Imagery
  • Pre-1966 1:63 360 (one in to one mile) series
  • Detailed 1:50K maps of Adelaide 
  • Metropolitan soils maps
  • Commodity and mine distribution throughout South Australia 


The cost of these published maps range between $6.00 to $11.00.

Explanatory Notes associated with the 1:250K series cost $22.00

On demand printing
Layers that can be portrayed on the maps include:

  • Geology - 1:2M, 1:250K and 1:100K (selected areas)
  • Geophysics - Gravity, Radiometrics, TMI
  • Tenements -  Exploration Licences (and applications), Mining Licences (and applications)
  • Geoscientific information - Drillholes, Province Boundaries and Sedimentary Basins
  • Parks, Reserves and Prohibited Areas
  • Topographic information - Roads, Railways, Water Bodies and Courses, Populated / Built-up areas

 

The cost for generation of these maps starts at $60 per hour plus the cost of printing.

 

Digital data
The digital data used to produce a print-on-demand map can be added to a CD or DVD.

Data can abe provided in a number of formats including ArcGIS or MapInfo.
